What does a license flag mean?
Inactive
- This is not a derogatory remark on the license. The practitioner is not currently affiliated with a Louisiana employing or education agency and is not working under a Medical Director and protocols. The practitioner can update their affiliation at any time to reflect employment with a Louisiana EMS agency.
Probation
- The stay (i.e. holding in abeyance) during good behavior of a license suspension, placing the license under supervision of the Bureau for a specified period of time. Licenses subject to probation are marked “probated” and specific probationary requirements are identified.
Instructor
- The practitioner has earned an approved Instructor Credential through the Louisiana Bureau of EMS.
Provisional
- A license has been temporarily issued, usually in order to give the applicant time to finish completing the necessary requirements. Provisional licenses should be verified often, as the status of the license may change. ( I do not think we need to include provisional as our office is no longer issuing these licenses)
Voluntarily Surrendered
- EMS Practitioner Surrendered License and is not licensed in the state of Louisiana.
Volunteer
- The practitioner volunteers for an agency in which the EMS practitioner utilizes their license, but the practitioner does not receive compensation for their services.
